Country kitchen
Old wood defines the look
Residents in Rockanje selected their kitchen based on an existing stove with a rustic look. Restyle XL made a kitchen out of recycled oak around it.
Concrete with old oak
In a detached, thoroughly remodeled notary house from the early nineteenth century, a kitchen was built combining old oak with concrete. The combination was a specific desire of the residents in Rockanje. Dennis van Oudenallen of Restyle XL: “The residents have a clear preference for old, used materials. And that is precisely our expertise: building kitchens from old, used wood.”
Preference for old materials
The new kitchen is large and is connected to the living room. It is a corner kitchen with low cabinets built around the Lacanche stove. Dennis: “It’s not just the recycled wood, along with the stove, that defines the look of this kitchen. The eight-inch thick concrete countertop is also a dazzler.” Restyle XL further created a stylish cabinetry, also from used oak. The cabinet has enough space for a refrigerator, freezer and wine cooler. Restyle XL also used solid, reclaimed oak for the farm scout – the stone ballusters the client supplied themselves. “Our wood comes from old properties. Over time, it becomes more beautiful and lovely. It’s a material that can be combined endlessly.”
