Stone bench Vondelpark Amsterdam
Jan Reek natural stone realized a bench around the monument of Joost van de Vondel in the Vondelpark Amsterdam. This was part of the vondel park renovation. The bench is made of Belgian bluestone. The special feature of this bench is that it is characterized by many Craftsman hand treatments such as jobbing, flaming and boucharding. The bench has a length of 75 meters and is made completely circular with a diameter of almost 25 meters. All the elements are made round and have a combined weight of 85 tons. Around the bench, a poem by Joost van den Vondel is carved into a raised text. Around the letters, the surface is bush hammered to make the text speak beautifully.
