Casa Lisbon
Located in Yucca Valley, on the edge of Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, this two-story accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a streamlined adobe-modernist-style hacienda, covered in terra-cotta plaster. The modular, Constructivist-like architecture is an organic study in oil-pipe steel and frosted corrugated glass, whose offset overhangs and cantilevered volumes act to distort and reconfigure its overall proportions in keeping with the surrounding Jurassic topography.
