Kitchen Stradella Road
The kitchen of 1055 Stradella Road, a high-end villa in Bel Air, Los Angeles was designed by Dieter Vander Velpen Architects with a number of unique and bold features that combine in a perfect blend of proportion and curves.
As the heart of the house, the striking island in the kitchen immediately attracts attention. The combination of rounded shapes and a carefully chosen material palette of natural stone, walnut and bronze give the island an elegant yet warm look. A thick worktop in honed Travertino Romano, is accented with a bronze frame and ribbed details on the front and side of the island in the same natural stone.
The island was finished with custom dark stained oak in various finishes, bringing together the three main materials of the design in a seamless way. The back wall of the kitchen features a curved bronze hood, which faces outward and contrasts with the inward curving marble back wall. Several bronze details in the kitchen highlight the overall design of the space and connect the whole.
