Mijntje van den Berk and Marjolein Kap are both interior architects and architects. Since 2014 they have been working together as a studio KAP + BERK and they focus on designing houses, interiors, new construction, renovations, outdoor spaces, furniture and product design.

Studio KAP + BERK believes that the environment in which we live has a major impact on the way we live. They strive for designs that are clear, readable and sustainable. Aesthetics and a good finish in detail are important, but a living and working environment must above all make sense. The routing must be right, one must be able to orientate and everything needs its place. This has to do with functionality as well as with light, visibility and use of materials and colors. The emphasis is on spatiality, contrasts, relationships and lines of sight. Inside and outside are connected with each other. The aim is to balance all these aspects with each other.

For Marjolein and Mijntje, sustainability means that in addition to a conscious choice for materials and energy measures, a design is also resistant to time, in both use and design.
