Diagonal Connection | Blaricum
One long diagonal line that changes the whole perspective of this lot. And intelligently transforms the space into a display for the pavilion designed by Jan-Evert de Brouwer of De Brouwer Binnenwerk.
In cooperation with: “The Brewer Interior”
A diagonal line redefines this space by detaching the garden composition from the urban fabric and directs its orientation toward the green surroundings.
The planting palette is consistent with the broader landscape and regional ecosystem. Pines, mixed grasses and birches define the main atmosphere and give the garden its sense of place.
The pavilion is pushed down into the floor, so it is not too dominant. This will not fill the space and will ensure the visual connection to the surrounding greenery.
The area of gravel framed by the floating concrete edges is the modern translation of a swimming pool. A plane without water, which serves as a display for the pavilion. The materials used in the pavilion reference the historic architecture of this region. Black stained wooden planks, as used in old sheep barns, are brought back in a contemporary way.
