Domicile on the Vecht
UPDATE
Once they were three apartments; impressive areas with large open spaces. “Linda, do you want to make it one warm, cozy home?” the clients asked. “A place where we feel more secure, with eye-catchers like a beautiful bar and a luxurious living room. A home where we enjoy hosting our friends?”
DESIGN
Except for the paneling and stately staircase, Linda’s team stripped the property. That gave room for surprising elements. For example, Linda designed an interplay of see-through fireplace, TV and wine wall that subtly separates the living room from bar and kitchen. Both the wine wall and bar are inlaid with the semi-precious stone smoky quartz and subtly lit by LED panels behind. The bedroom and bathroom are connected in a semi-transparent way, thanks to bronze smoked glass and playfully placed wooden slats. Illuminated steps lead to a stage with a sunken bathtub that, like the bed, overlooks the Vecht River.
