Lovely serene villa in wooded area

In the province of Utrecht, we find this completely sustainable and energy-neutral house that blends beautifully into its wooded surroundings thanks to its wooden cladding. The light coming in through the many large windows and the open nature of the home with its clear sight lines offer an atmospheric and serene experience.

From the beginning of the process, Martijn Veldman Interior Design was involved in the design of this fantastic home, allowing the layout to be changed at his discretion. The house was built for a large family with four teenagers. As a result, in addition to open connecting spaces, it was necessary to create areas where you can actually retreat.

Martijn Veldman Interior Design is known for combining classic elements with a modern look and using clear sightlines. Veldman constantly strives for the perfect combination between functionality and aesthetics. He also managed to combine these characteristics in the design of this family home.

Thus, he chose carefully selected, natural materials and applied them throughout the home. For example, the dark-colored oak that recurs in many rooms is a great mood creator. The real eye-catcher is the dining room with long dining table and the large lamps showing off above it. Natural stone is seen in the bathroom, and linen, cotton and leather are also widely represented in interior design.

Martijn Veldman also paid attention to details to keep the interior exciting. For example, you will see soft red accents in several rooms. Sometimes this is a wall, other times a pouf in the bedroom, other times a lamp, a vase or some books in the bookcase. A nice detail that stands out as you walk through the home. Timeless, Italian furniture gives this home character and provides the finishing touches.

The studio supervised the process from design to realization with the utmost care and ensured that clients remained involved throughout the design and development process. Once again, Martijn Veldman succeeded with his design and execution. “In fact, for the client, the house felt like home very quickly, and that’s even though both the house and the interior were almost completely new!”
