Oasis on the water
Renovation Randstad
We converted two small houses into a large oasis on the water in a special place. Although almost nothing has been preserved of the original buildings, two volumes are clearly recognizable in the new villa. This is caused by the two separate hoods, with a floor for the parents and a floor for the two children underneath.
The clients’ wish list included a lot of light, a view from all sides, a living space on the garden side, plenty of cupboard space, and a large bathroom. There also had to be space for the cars and a multifunctional garden house to use all year round.
Open living space
Because the family likes to be in each other’s company, an open living space was created on the garden side with cupboards as room dividers. The large glass front can be slid open and offers a view of the garden with the spacious deck at the water’s end. A view that never gets boring because there is always something to see: from small sailing boats to large inland vessels. His boat is even an important means of transport for the son of the house.
Sleek and warm
The residents like a warm and sleek interior. They translated into a combination of furniture in natural tones, white walls and a sand-colored tile floor. Because of the spacious dimensions, everything is bought new or made to measure, such as the 3.5-meter dining table. The table is the focal point of family life. Here the children do their homework, visit and eat together. This house, with this light and view, really feels like coming home for the family. A true oasis on the water.
