Low-maintenance garden at a lifetime home
After demolishing the old house, the architect was commissioned to build a life-proof residence. The lot borders a natural area. To enjoy the view, the living room was raised half a floor. All parts of the house were made as low-maintenance as possible. It is up to us to match that with the garden. All tile pavement is laid in scratch-resistant and grouted ceramic tiles. These baked large format tiles do not absorb moisture and dirt, making them easy to keep clean. A mowing robot keeps the lawn short and sleek.

Garden connects the house to the environment
The interplay of lines in the garden connects the house to the landscape environment. The clean and modern garden design fits well with the clean lines of the house. The planting in large groups is loose and lush in design and blends well with the views of the surrounding landscape. In the planting beds we find large groups of ornamental grasses. This fine-leaved species forms a beautiful leaf contrast with the large-leaved multi-stemmed Catalpas. Present hedges have been retained and refurbished. Present trees were just outside the lot boundaries, but certainly participate in the mature image the garden shows after just one full season. Maximum enjoyment here of the peace and serenity, the play of light and shadow and the changing of the seasons.

Garden architecture and art
These patrons already owned some outdoor works of art. In the garden, these are subtly incorporated. See, for example, how the large boulder to sit on is naturally incorporated into the embankment. Elsewhere on the lawn is another nice work of art. The grassy slope slopes down to the basement, which is lowered half a floor. As a result, there is plenty of daylight there as well.
